HOW TO BUILD A HEALTHY MEAL

Do you want to start eating healthier but aren’t sure where to begin? The first step towards healthier eating habits is cutting back on processed foods, and incorporating more real, whole foods into your meals. A diet shouldn’t be something that you “get on and off of.” It should simply be a new way of eating. A healthy meal should consist of a lean protein (animal meat or vegan/vegetarian option), a healthy carbohydrate, vegetables, and a healthy fat. A meal made up of all four of those categories will ensure you're getting all of the nutrients your body needs, as well as allow you to feel satiated and satisfied.

Begin building your meal by following these 4 steps:


Step 1: Choose a lean protein

Step 2: Choose a healthy carbohydrate (fruit and grains fall under this category)

Step 3: Choose a vegetable (or variety of vegetables)

Step 4: Add a healthy fat.
